Men - How to Buy Diamond Jewelry

The large range of diamond jewelry often makes it very difficult for men to decide what type of jewelry to purchase for their loved ones.

Diamonds symbolize love, commitment and friendship, which makes it hard to choose the right piece of jewelry from the large variety of Diamond rings, Diamond earrings, Diamond pendants, Diamond necklaces, Diamond bracelets and of course Loose diamonds- which are always perfect since they can be set in any type of jewelry.

We can't choose the perfect diamond jewelry for you but we can help you with 5 easy steps:

Step 1- Knowing what she likes:
Narrow down the type of jewelry she likes to wear by observing the jewelry she wears in general, and on different occasions. The jewelry she wears may vary. For example, her daytime jewelry may be different from the jewelry she wears when she goes out or to formal occasions.

Step 2- Knowing the color and size of the jewelry she wears:
Now that you have noticed the type of jewelry that she likes, it's time to look closely at the details of her jewelry style. The first thing you should check is if she likes White gold, Yellow gold or Rose gold. You should also check if she prefers conservative or flashy jewelry. For example, her earrings. Are they small and conservative like studs or are the big and detailed like chandelier or hoop earrings.

Step 3- Knowing her ring size (if you are buying a ring):
Knowing her ring size makes her ring perfect for many reasons, one of which is the fact that she can wear her ring right away. Another reason is saving the hassle of having the ring resized.

Step 4- Learning about diamonds:
Learning about diamonds will help you choose and understand the quality and prices of diamonds. Learning about the Four C's will help you understand- Color, Clarity, Carat and Cut, and choose the perfect diamond.

Step 5- Begin shopping:
Now you have an idea for her perfect gift and you can start shopping. We recommend looking online at diamond jewelry websites.

Don't forget! Buying diamond jewelry is an investment. Now that you are educated in diamond jewelry, you can finally give her the perfect gift.

Good luck!

The History of Rings

By: Martin Smith

During the Medieval period is when rings became popular. All classes of people wore rings from the poorest to the richest. Rings were typically made of iron, copper, silver, and gold. The material of the ring worn usually indicated the class of the wearer. It wasn't until around the 14th century that faceted jewels appeared in rings.

Some cultures have rings typically associated with them. Cultures such as Native Americans use silver and turquoise in their jewelry. Early Christians used the Greek symbol, the Icthus, which resembles a fish. One of the best known is the Irish Claddagh that also has an intriguing story attached to it. Richard Joyce was among the crew of a fishing boat from the village of Claddagh, Ireland that was captured, he was to have been married that very same week. During slavery Richard Joyce was put to the trade of Goldsmith-ing. Through the years of capture neither married. Richard Joyce created a ring for his love with a heart for love, a crown for loyalty, and two hands.

After Joyce escaped capture, he returned to the village of Claddagh and was overjoyed to see his love again and to know she had never married. She always knew he would return to her. He gave her the ring that has become known as the Claddagh ring. If the Claddagh is worn on the right hand with the crown inward (toward the wrist) the heart is not yet committed. If it is worn on the right hand with the crown turned outward the wearer is committed to someone. Finally if it is worn on the left hand with the crown outward it means "Let our love and friendship reign forever, never to be separated."

Rings are worn for a variety of reasons including adornment. There are rings given as a reward for a job well done such as the Super Bowl victory. They are given to represent commitment as in engagements and marriages. Women religious to signify their commitment to God also wear rings.

Rings can be made of almost any material now. They can be made from plastic, silver, gold, or copper, even wood. They can be made of ceramic materials as well. They can be of simple design or something as intricate as filigree.

They can be plain and simple or they can be adorned with jewels or gemstones, as in the case of birthstone rings. There is a birthstone for each month of the year and each has its own meaning. See the listing below.

January - Garnet
The gem of faith and truth; protects from poisons, thought to stop bleeding, cure sickness of the blood and infections.

February - Amethyst
Aids soldiers in battle, control evil thoughts, helps hunters to catch animals, and helps the owner be good in business.

March - Aquamarine
Sailors used aquamarine to gemstones to keep them safe and to prevent seasickness. It gives the wearer courage, foresight and courage

April - Diamond
Symbol of strength, courage, and invincibility. It is the ultimate gift of love. In 1477 Archduke Maxmillian of Austria gave Mary of Burgundy a diamond ring, thus starting the tradition of diamonds being given as engagement rings.

May - Emerald
Sharpened the wearer's eyesight and mind. Travelers used them as protection against the hazards of long trips. The green color is said to give the owner power to predict the future.

June - Pearl
Freshwater pearls give the power of love, money, protection, and luck. It is said they give provide wisdom through experience and protect children from harm.

July - Ruby
Its red color is related to sex, passion, strength, health, physical energy, courage, and protection. It is associated with blood, birth, and death

August - Peridot
It is thought to bring the wearer good luck, peace, and success. Its powers include health, protection, and sleep. It attracts love, calms anger, eases anxiety and negative emotions

September - Saphire
Its powers include spiritual enlightenment and inner peace. It is said to aid in the healing of rheumatism, colic and mental illness

October - Opal
It has healing powers that aid inner beauty, faithfulness, and eyesight. It also aids in remembering past lives.

November - Yellow Topaz (Sanskrit for fire)
In the Middle Ages was thought to heal both physical and mental illnesses and prevent death. Citrine - also for November - Aids the kidneys, heart, digestive tract liver, and muscles. It promotes creativity, personal clarity and eliminates self-destructive tendencies.

December - Blue Topaz (Sanskrit for fire)
In the Middle Ages was thought to heal both physical and mental illnesses and prevent death. Turquoise - also for December - It attracts money, success, and love. It gives protection, healing, courage, friendship, and luck. It eases the mind and mental tension.

There are school rings, engagement rings, wedding rings, friendship rings and mothers rings (usually the birthstones of her children set on a band. Hannah Montana a Hit Among Parents as Well

Hannah Montana a Hit Among Parents as Well

Author: Groshan Fabiola

There is no doubt about it--Disney's original series, Hannah Montana is a worldwide success and phenomenon. The large and still growing fan base has been fully supportive of the show and its other related endeavors such as the clothing and accessory line and music albums from the star of the show, Miley Cyrus.

Recently, it was reported that Hannah Montana has actually crossed age borders and have invited older aged fans and enthusiasts as well, such as the parents of the young boys and girls who are avid fans of the show.

Take for example 41-year-old mother Sue Kenna who was in a conversation with Sentinel and Enterprise. She told them that she enjoyed watching the show with her children, 4-year-old twins Brigitte and Isobell, and 2-year-old son Max.

"They just want to sing and dance all the time, so it's good music for them," Kenna explained.

Kenna adds that the music of Hannah Montana is enjoyable for the kids as they can all sing along to the words. She also lets them tune in to Radio Disney, to be sure that they're listening to the right music appropriate for their age.

"Some songs I don't want them to sing along to," said the mother of three. "They can sing along to those [Hannah Montana] songs."

The Massachusetts morning daily newspaper also reported about the other parents they've talked to, and the parents were happy that Hannah Montana presented a positive role model.

The show's positive and wholesome image has also led Subway restaurant to use the brand to reach out to the teen and tween market in the United States.

The sandwich establishment had started using Hannah Montana toys and promotions on April 30 as a part of their campaign against childhood obesity. The promotion, which ended a few weeks ago, actually increased sales while it was ongoing.

"My generation had Punky Brewster," said Michelle Cordial, Director of Brand Management for Subway, last week. "This generation has Hannah Montana combined with the music element. The music element definitely helps."

High School Musical 2 Wins Best Soundtrack Album at the 35th Annual American Music Awards

High School Musical 2 Wins Best Soundtrack Album at the 35th Annual American Music Awards

Author: Groshan Fabiola

The High School Musical fever does not stop here as the highly successful Disney franchise has another award to add up to its string of honors. The soundtrack album of the Disney Channel Original Movie sequel was recognized by the 35th Annual American Music Awards as Best Soundtrack Album this year. The event was held last Sunday at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles , California , where cast members Vanessa Anne Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale, among others, were there to receive the award.

It is the first time in the history of the American Music Awards that the winners of the 35th Annual American Music Awards were garnered from online voting. The fans of High School Musical took this opportunity to vote for their favorite soundtrack, which beat the albums of Hairspray and Dreamgirls.

High School Musical 2's soundtrack, which was released in August, debuted at the number 1 spot on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, Amazon.com, and iTunes Store, where it initially sold 615,000 and shipped double platinum with 2 million copies during its first week of release. A month later, the tally increased significantly, and thus the album became the fourth-biggest first week sales of 2007. Within three months, the CD was able to sell over 3.5 million copies worldwide.

It isn't a surprise that the album has garnered huge sales in such a short period of time. The made-for-TV Disney film, which chronicles the young lovers Troy (Zac Efron) and Gabriella (Vanessa Hudgens) during their summer break at the resort owned by the family of antagonist and spoiled brat Sharpay (Ashley Tisdale), has also garnered an impressive 17.2 million viewers in the United States during its premiere, thus making it the highest rated basic cable broadcast in the history of the United States. Not only has the franchise spawned various product lines such as video games and other tween products, but it has also launched the solo careers of two of its main cast, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale, who have released their solo albums soon after the first High School Musical movie was aired.

The Curse of the Hope Diamond

The Curse of the Hope Diamond

Author: Engagement'>http://www.buyengagementrings.net/">Engagement rings and loose diamonds are just meager modern manifestations of the truly supreme stone, which is believed to possess paranormal powers and healing properties. Diamonds have also been known to bring upon terrible curses on meddlers and vandalizers in the past. Such a terrible lore surrounds the famous “French Blue” now known as the “Hope Diamond”. Several controversies exist among scholars and researchers around the world regarding the authenticity and logistics behind the so called curse, but the well documented history and biography of the diamond suggests that there’s more to the ‘Blue Diamond’ than what meets the eye.

The Hope Diamond dates back to 1642, it is a diamond noted for its remarkable color, size, clarity, beauty, and history. The Hope Diamond is a very brilliant deep blue faceted ovoid diamond that measures 25.60 millimeters by 21.78 millimeters by 12.00 millimeters and weights 45.52 carats. The diamond is set in a pendent in which it is encircled by sixteen white diamonds, indeed an excellent engagement ring for your loved one. The Hope’s color is a combination of blue, caused by boron, as in all blue diamonds, and gray. The depth and intensity of its color and the occasional highlights that flash from its facets are unique. Vivid reds, yellows, and greens can be seen from different angles and the diamond fluoresces with a unique reddish color when exposed to ultraviolet light.

It all began in Seventeenth India when a French traveler and gem collector named Jean Baptiste Tavernier first set his eyes upon a huge112 3/16 carat blue diamond of unmatched color , brilliance and size on the forehead of an idol of the Hindu goddess Sita in a remote temple. The diamond is said to have been excavated from the Kollur mine in Golconda, India. Needless to mention Tavernier had to abide by the existing law under the powerful Mughal Sultanate while carrying it out from the country by paying a hefty price. When Tavernier returned to his homeland after twenty three years, the French monarch Louis XIV was extremely impressed with what the traveler had fetched for the kingdom and immediately declared Tavernier a ‘nobleman’. The Blue diamond found its place of honor in the royal crown and it was named ‘ Blue Diamomd of the Crown’ after going through a re-cut where it was reduced to 67 1/8 carats. It is said that Tavernier met an un-fateful end when he was torn to death by wild dogs while on a trip to Russia.

The diamond was handed down to his successor Louis XV who further cut the diamond to amplify it’s brilliance. When Louis XVI ascended the throne a great misfortune befell him and his wife Marie Atoinette. The uprise of the French Revolution took place and the French monarchy was put to an end. Both the King and his beloved wife were beheaded. Soon after the demise of the French royalty, custody of the French crown jewels was returned to the National Assembly. They were stored in Paris in a repository called the ‘Garde Meuble’ and put on public display. In the year 1792 a series of bizarre burglary incidents take place in spite of the place’s supposedly invincible security. And so the French Blue disappeared from history because no blue diamond of its weight and appearance was ever recovered.

The diamond again re-surfaced in 1813 under the possession of one Daniel Eliason, a Kindon diamond merchant in London. Scholars believed that the diamond that Eliason owned was in fact the blue diamond after having undergone several cuts as it did possess exactly similar properties as the French Blue. The blue diamond that surfaced in London was estimated at 44 carats. There is some evidence that shows King George IV of England bought the blue diamond from Daniel Eliason and upon King George's death, the diamond was sold to pay off debts. By 1939, possibly earlier, the blue diamond was in the possession of Henry Philip Hope, from whom the Hope diamond has taken its name.

Henry Philip Hope, who was one of the heirs of the banking firm Hope & Co. became a collector of fine art and gems, thus he acquired the large blue diamond that was soon to carry his family's name. Since he had never married, all his property and estate was passed on to his three nephews. One of his successors named Henry Thomas Hope finally got to own the diamond and upon his death in 1862 at the age of 54 , the Hope diamond stayed in the possession of Hope's widow. But when Henry Thomas Hope's widow died, she passed the Hope diamond on to her grandson, the second oldest son, Lord Francis Hope. All these years of decay and degeneration finally culminated to a terrible end when Francis Hope became bankrupt by engaging in obnoxious activities such as gambling and his family is said to have died from extreme poverty.

Simon Frankel, an American jeweler, bought the Hope diamond in 1901 and hence brought the diamond to the United States. The diamond changed hands several times during the next several years, and finally came into the hands of Pierre Cartier. Cartier found a buyer in the rich Evalyn Walsh McLean who first saw the diamond in 1910 during a trip to Paris with her husband. She believed that things believed to be unlucky, had always turned out to be lucky for her. Cartier made use of this and emphatically narrated the Hope’s miserable history to her. Finally Evalyn did buy the diamond, which was then encrusted with 16 diamonds and attached to a string of several other diamonds. Though Evalyn McLean wore the Hope diamond as a good luck charm, others saw the curse strike her too. McLean's first-born son, Vinson, died in a car crash when he was only nine. McLean suffered another major loss when her daughter committed suicide at the age of 25. In addition to all this, Evalyn McLean's husband was declared insane and confined to a mental institution until his death in 1941. All of her jewelry (including the Hope, which was probably worn as an engagement ring ) was put on sale by her grand children in 1949, two years after her death, in order to settle debts from her estate.

When the Hope diamond went on sale in 1949, it was bought by Harry Winston, a New York jeweler. He offered the diamond to be worn at numerous balls as an attempt to raise funds for charity and finally on November !0th , 1958 the Hope diamond traveled in a plain brown box, by registered mail to the Smithsonian Institution as a donation . It was the said that it was a stance taken by Winston in order to get rid of the curse himself. The Hope diamond is currently on display as part of the National Gem and Mineral Collection in the National Museum of Natural History for all to see.

Shopping With Online Auctions

Shopping With Online Auctions

You have to be sure that you are dealing with things when you are going through the process of buying the items that you want. As you can see there is going to be a place that will help you with the entire process and that is the best process for you.

You must be sure that you are going to have the right statement in the way that you are getting the deals that you need. We all want to be sure that we are going to be able to save as much money as we can.

If you do this then you are going to have to spend enough time working it all out and then moving on. That is something that you are going to have to deal with when you are working the deals out in the right way. Of course you will be positive in the right deals as you do so.

There is nothing that you are going to have to deal with when you are working it all out. That is nothing that we can deal with over the years. That is something that we are going to have in the right deals because of the fact that we have the right changes.

This is where you have to be sure that you are taking part in things like the online auctions. This means that you are going to have all that you can from this one place.

We can see that we are getting all that we can from this one deal. Online auctions are impressive when you consider the deals that you can get from them. Overall there is going to be a place in the world that will help you make it happen.

Bidding
The one thing that you have to learn to do with the online auctions is bidding. This is where you are stating how much you are willing to pay for the item in question. Of course this is going to be a process that is easy to learn for most people but you have to be sure that you are not overpaying for the item.

You can get yourself hung up in the heat of the moment and start paying way too much just to beat someone out of item. If the price starts to get above what you want to pay then you can simply move on to the next place and find another one.

Purchasing
You will have to make sure that you have a way to pay for the item. This is usually done through a credit card or maybe through an online payment service. There have been many companies formed based on the idea of paying for items that are bought from online auctions.

They are safe and secure and will actually help you make a change in the way that you are paying for the items that you need. Of course you should still be careful. This is because you never want a hacker to get a hold of the information and take your money.

Online Shopping Trends on the Rise

Online Shopping Trends on the Rise

Author: Michael Dela Cruz

Customers in 2007 slowly traded their mall-walking runners and rickety shopping carts in for a comfortable mouse and mouse pad during the 2007 Holiday Shopping Season. Major retail businesses who have experienced first-hand the revenue that can be generated through an online store spent months gearing up in preparation of the annual online sales rush. They made sure their websites were up to the challenge of handling all the online sales and are busy preparing aggressive marketing campaigns to maximize the return on every person that lands on their online store.

Offline Businesses May Be Missing Out on Online Sales

It's likely that many smaller local businesses that have yet to join the online store movement were in for a bit of a shock last November and December as people, fed up with the hassle of fighting checkout lineups, parking lot mayhem, sub-zero temperatures, and inflated seasonal pricing, abandoned chaotic malls and boutiques in favor of a more quiet, convenient, and hassle-free online sales experience in the comfort of their own home. No pushy sales staff, no busy checkout line-ups, no parking hassles. If you don't think it's a big deal, you might want to check out the online sales statistics below.

Online Sales Revenue Hits $24.6 Billion in 2006: Up 26% from 2005

According to statistics published by ClickZ.com in 2007, there was a 26% increase in shopping dollars spent in online stores during the 2006 holiday season over the same recorded period in 2005. Annual online sales topped $102 Billion demolishing the previous year's record by nearly $20 Billion. Consumers are sending a very clear message to businesses that they are starting to look to the web and online stores to meet some, if not all, of their shopping needs.

Businesses with an online store enjoy:

  • A 24 hour a day, 7 day a week, 365 day virtual online store front that can handle hundreds, even thousands of online store customers at the same time. This can exponentially increase your sales productivity time compared to that of your offline competitors who can only open for 8 to 16 hours per day.

  • A virtual sales staff that never calls in sick, never quits, never gets tired, never takes a break and never complains saving your business money in terms of minimized downtime and maximized selling time.

  • Precise communication between business and customer. You control the message it delivers and the information it gives to potential customers so you can be certain that information is accurately conveyed. This results in fewer returns due to confusion or misinterpretation of a product or service and higher customer retention rates and satisfaction levels.

  • Your online store can take a website visitor from a tire kicker to satisfied paying customer all on its own even when your business is closed for the day.

  • You'll gain access to customers who shop exclusively online or, for whatever reason, are not able to personally visit your store. (Time constraints, physically challenged, housebound, remote location etc.)

Many businesses have already come to realize the solid advantage that having an online store gives them over their competitors. They all leverage the power of an online store to tap into additional revenue and compete outside of local markets. Don't you think it's time you explored the possibilities and claimed your share of the dollars being generated online?

Increase Online Traffic

Increase Online Traffic

Author: Richard Adams

If you are an internet entrepreneur looking to increase online traffic to your website then in this article I'm going to discuss 6 ways to accomplish this. They are all simple methods that are free to implement and require little or no specialised knowledge, meaning that you can get started today with a little bit of time and see results swiftly.

1) Blog Commenting

Locate blogs of a related topic to your website using Google's Blog Search tool, Technorati or IceRocket and add useful, on-topic comments to posts that you find that are of interest to you. In experiments, I have regularly found a single comment on a high-traffic blog to produce 5 or so visitors per day, so 100 comments strewn across a range of blogs could lead to several thousand new visitors to your site each month.

2) Forum Signatures

Use Google once again to search for forums in your niche by simply typing in the broad keywords associated with your niche followed by the word forum (such as "cat forum"). Once you have found a number, register for them and spend time there to offer information and advice to users. Make your answers genuinely useful so they add value rather than spamming forums with pointless posts and add a link to your website in your signature file if the forum allows it.

3) Yahoo Answers

Whilst Yahoo is the best known "question and answer" website there are a number of others out there. In Yahoo answers, users can ask questions on any topic they like. You, equally, can search for unanswered questions based on keywords and try to answer them yourself, linking back to yourself once again in your signature file.

4) Classified Ads

Sites like USFreeAds, Craigslist and GumTree all allow you to post free classified ads to their sites. Find the right site area and place an advert for your website ensuring you use your main keywords to attract the right sort of visitors. If you have a small amount of money to spare, consider trying Ebay's own classified ad service which offers you a powerful interface to create colorful, attractive ads plus loads and loads of potential customers.

5) Testimonials

Another great trick to increase online traffic is to email people whose website or product you particularly like with a testimonial about how great you thought their ebook was or the content on their website is. Tell them they can post that comment on their website to increase sales if they like - so long as they include a link to your website.

The beauty here, of course, is that all sorts of websites will be sending them traffic - pay per click advertising, affiliates, search engines and more - and there's your link front and center on their page.

6) Submit Articles

As a last suggestion in this article on how to increase online traffic, consider writing articles specifically to give away to other websites or blogs. Opt-in Boxes, Subscriber Boxes, Sign Up Boxes, Free Report Boxes

Have you signed up for your free stuff today? Or just wanted to buy something lately and had to put your first name and email in? Or just wanted to see what information is on a site and filled one out? I do not know how many lists I am on now, I lost count. It is good marketing practice to get as many subscribers as you can and have a big list, but is this getting out of hand?

As a marketer is feel that I must look at other sites and see what is out there. I dedicate a half hour a day and sometimes a little longer looking at my co-marketers sites and also like to look at the sites with top rankings on the search engines. I am finding a lot more sites are not letting me view them without opting in, you know, landing pages, or squeeze pages. I do understand the principle and the reasoning behind this, I am a marketer also.

The other side of this is I have dedicated a half hour of my day to read my email. I have 4 email addresses now. One personal that I check frequently, one for business, one for subscriptions that I like to read up on and am glad I joined and another for forced sign ups.

It has gotten to the point that I would need to dedicate my whole day to reading email if I read them all. I know about the unsubscribe link at the bottom. It just seems like a waist of my time to have to open each one and go to the bottom, press on the link and then to the next and so on. I opened my forced email today that had been unopened for 3 days and had over 350 emails I had to delete just to empty it.

My point is that I am looking at this differently now. Rather than a good practice, how many people are doing the same with my emails? People getting overwhelmed with email and even though they might want to read what I have to say or offer, they see hundreds of emails and just delete the whole box.

I admit that a lot of the fault is my own because I am a buyer. I love to keep up with the latest and see the products and test them and use them. I am a good consumer. Some people I buy from every time they come out with a new product. I also like reading the email copy and ad copy to get ideas and educate myself on copy.

It has been said that each one on your list is worth $1. I feel that I am a little more valuable to some, am less value to most others.

I am teetering on the top of the fence right now with the list building tactics and logic. I am seeing it as a necessity and also as being like a used car salesman. I think it could hurt a lot of good marketers with good information to offer. I don't believe that they will not survive because if you have good products and good services then you will get return business, and they also will have affiliates working for them. It is going to get very hard for the little start up marketers though.

The value of the list is going to be dropping like the value of the dollar and real estate. There is going to be too many people with large lists and not enough consumers. My thoughts are that marketers are going to have to be more focused on SEO, Adwords, articles, social sites, forums, banner ads and links to get people to their sites. The email response is going to become a minimal factor. I could be wrong, but that is my forecast after looking at my email box today and deleting it all without even glancing at but a few headlines.

I don't recommend anyone else doing this, but I am going to live like I always have, by the golden rule. I am not forcing anyone to join my subscription. If they like my freebies and like my content, and chose to receive information from me, then they can sign up.

Diamond Earrings

Diamond Earrings

Author: Mr. Praven Sharma

"A diamond is forever," as the old saying goes. The late actress Marilyn Monroe said it best: "a diamond is a girl’s best friend." So much tribute has been paid to the everlasting glory of the diamond, which is among the most valuable (and expensive!) precious stones in existence. Is it any wonder then that diamond jewelry is so fashionable? Diamond rings, necklaces, earrings, bracelets - many of these are regarded as works of art.

Diamond Jewels care

It is true that Diamonds are forever, even then diamonds do need care with proper care diamond jewelry can last for generation never keep all your Diamond Jewelry clustered in a case. A diamond can damage others stones and one diamond can scratch another. Wrap up your Jewellery in tissue papers, or keep them in separate.

The diamond is the most unadulterated of all the gemstones composed of a single pure element. It is also the hardest transparent substance that exists. It is for this that the diamond stands as a symbol of strength, purity of spirit, and even physical chastity.

Diamond earrings first reached the height of fashion in Europe in the 18th century, just before the Renaissance era. To this day many people, even men, wear diamond earrings as a classy adornment. George Michael and Prince are only two of the many male celebrities who have been known to use diamonds as ear decorations. From time to time, David Beckham of soccer fame sports the odd diamond earring worth around $12,300.

Diamonds emphasize superiority and endurance. Unlike pearls they do not trap light, but reflect them -- projecting not just a glow, but a finely subtle ray of light upon the bearer’s features. The light reflected by a diamond earring is often caught in the wearer’s eye; hence you might notice a crafty sparkle in the eyes of women who wear finely-cut genuine diamond earrings.

Primarily, a diamond is graded by its 4 Cs: the cut, clarity, color, and carat weight. These characteristics are taken into consideration in the crafting of the finest diamond earrings. Take these factors into consideration when picking out diamond jewelry. But Djewels have 5 C’s Diamonds : the cut, clarity, color, carat and cost.

Diamond earrings make the best gifts for loved ones who have an eye for quality, and deserve only the best in life. These accessories speak of the wearer’s high-class taste and love for things of beauty.

Differences Between Diamond Wedding Rings and Wedding Bands

Differences Between Diamond Wedding Rings and Wedding Bands

Author: Mr. Praven Sharma

Diamond wedding rings and bands are both appropriate styles of rings to signify marriage. Wedding bands are more popular for men, but women often choose band styles that fit with their engagement rings. Women may choose to have their wedding bands welded together with their engagement rings to form one ring, if they desire. Many women will wear their engagement rings on the same finger as their wedding bands without welding them together as well.

Wedding bands became popular for men at the time of World War II. Bands are more appropriate for men because they are completely different than the style of engagement rings which are worn by women. Wedding bands are flat and make a complete circle around the finger. They are made from precious metals such as yellow gold, white gold, silver, or platinum and may or may not include some diamonds set into the ring. Because they are never-ending, they symbolize a love that lasts forever. Diamond engagement or diamond wedding rings are also circular, but they display a large diamond that protrudes from one side of the ring.
Purchasing Loose Diamonds

When looking at diamond wedding rings, you can choose from a preset ring, or you can purchase loose diamonds separately from your ring setting. By purchasing loose diamonds, you will be able to more accurately determine the quality of particular diamonds. Diamond quality is determined by the Four Cs which are cut, clarity, color, and carat. Cut refers to the proportions and shape of a diamond, clarity reveals the number of imperfections in a diamond, color measures how close a diamond is to being colorless, and carat refers to the weight of a diamond. When purchasing loose diamonds, make sure to ask for certification of quality ratings for any diamond that interests you.

Bridal Jewelry - Tradition Vs. Modern

Bridal Jewelry - Tradition Vs. Modern

Author: Bonnie

Bridal jewelry is the final touch that pulls the entire bridal look together with the bridal gown and hair. Selecting the bridal gown is the first and most important part, but the selection of the bridal jewelry is the icing on the cake. With bridal gown designers creating more varieties of dresses, the bridal jewelry industry must keep up. Many bridal gowns now have either pearl or swarovski crystal embellishments or a combination of both, leaving more options available for the selection of the bridal jewelry that will match.

Typically, in tradition, brides wore white or ivory pearls for their wedding day bridal jewelry. Whether the bride inherited the pearl bridal jewelry she wore on her wedding day or purchased new pearl bridal jewelry, pearls were what was traditionally worn for bridal jewelry. Many brides are still choosing to wear the traditional pearls for their bridal jewelry. Whether their mothers or grandmothers are passing down a family heirloom, or they are purchasing new pearl bridal jewelry, pearls are still a popular selection for many brides. Many bridal gowns available are embellished with pearls in the design of the bridal gown. For a lot of brides, selecting pearls not only matches their bridal gown perfectly, but still keeps the traditional pearl bridal jewelry theme.

The availability of bridal gowns with swarovski crystals is becoming extremely prevalent in bridal boutiques. Brides are searching for something new and different, and purchasing a bridal gown with swarovski crystals that sparkle and give that extra modern elegance is just what they are looking for. Due to this newer more modern trend of swarovski crystal embellished bridal gowns, the bridal jewelry industry is creating more and more swarovski crystal bridal jewelry to match. Incorporating swarovski crystals in your bridal jewelry selection is becoming easier to find and match to your bridal gown. The manufacturers of swarovski crystals are constantly making more color options available. So not only is it easier for brides to match their bridal jewelry to their bridal gowns, but finding matching bridal jewelry for their bridesmaids gowns is also easier. Because the swarovski crystal bridal jewelry is expanding, brides are making their bridal jewelry selections easier and with a lot less stress. Finding the perfect crystal bridal jewelry to match the embellishments and design of your bridal gown is more than important, it is what finishes off your bridal jewelry look.

For other brides, a combination of both pearls and crystals in their bridal jewelry is what they are looking for. Whether their bridal gowns include both pearls and crystals, or they just want the traditional bridal look mixed with the modern bridal jewelry look, a combination of pearls and crystals for bridal jewelry is one of the most popular selections among brides. Mixing tradition with modern elegance and sophistication in your bridal jewelry look is a great way to include your something old with a something new, per say. Because more and more bridal gowns are including both pearls and crystals, your bridal jewelry needs to match that look as well.

Whatever your bridal gown selection, choosing bridal jewelry that matches perfectly is important to finish off your bridal jewelry look. With more and more bridal jewelry designers and bridal jewelry boutiques and companies, it is becoming an easier task for brides to find that perfect bridal jewelry to match their bridal gowns. Make sure to find the perfect bridal jewelry to finish off your bridal jewelry look. Whether you are wanting traditional bridal jewelry or modern bridal jewelry or a combination of both, bridal jewelry stores and bridal jewelry designers have what you are looking for, exquisite bridal jewelry to match your gorgeous bridal gown.

What to Look for When Buying Fine Jewelry

What to Look for When Buying Fine Jewelry

Author: Temp />

For centuries, fine jewelry has been one of the most popular gifts that people buy for all kinds of special occasions. While buying fine jewelry and fine gemstone jewelry is enjoyable for many, a lot of people can find the task rather daunting. Why, you ask? Well, there are a couple reasons.

First off, the decision to buy fine jewelry, including designer jewelry and handcrafted designer jewelry, is a quite expensive one and one that should not be taken lightly. Even if you have all the money in the world, it still helps to be educated on fine jewelry, and all of the terms used in the industry.

Secondly, with all of the fine jewelry and designer jewelry collections available out there, one can literally spend hours figuring out what type of jewelry to buy. Necklace or ring? One carat or two? Yellow gold or white gold? Designer jewelry or designer inspired jewelry?

In order to make your next fine jewelry venture a great one, here is some information that will aid you in getting the best quality jewelry for your money, whether shopping in a traditional fine jewelry store or online.

Gold Jewelry

Dense, shiny and the most malleable and ductile of the known metals, gold is one of the most popular choices for fine jewelry. When used by itself, the word gold means all gold or 24 karat gold. Because it is soft, 24 karat gold is commonly mixed with other metals by jewelry designers to increase its hardness and durability.

One can learn about what proportion of gold is mixed with other metals based on its karat quality. For instance, fourteen karat jewelry contains 14 parts of gold, mixed in throughout with 10 parts of base metal. Hence, the higher the karat rating, the higher the proportion of gold is in the piece of fine jewelry.

Although karat marking is not required by law, most reputable designer jewelry and other fine jewelry are marked with its karat quality. Next to the mark should be the trademark of the company that stands behind the mark. A quality piece of fine jewelry will always have the trademark name, symbol, or initials. The term ‘solid gold’ refers to an item made of any karat gold, if the inside of the item is not hollow.

Platinum, Silver & More

Platinum is one of the most expensive precious metals used to make fine jewelry. It is preferred by jewelry designer Peretti, as well as several other fine jewelry designers. More expensive than gold, platinum is typically mixed with other similar metals that are known as the platinum group metals: iridium, palladium, ruthenium, rhodium, and osmium.

As compared with gold fine jewelry, different markings are used on platinum modern designer jewelry as well. Quality markings for platinum are based on parts per thousand. For instance, the marking 900 Platinum refers to the fact that 900 parts out of 1000 are pure platinum. This can also be shown as 90% platinum and 10% other metals. When making fine jewelry, designer jewelry, or designer inspired jewelry, the abbreviations for platinum used are Plat. or Pt. Any fine jewelry items that consist of at least 950 parts per thousand pure platinum are allowed to be marked as platinum.

Silver or sterling silver refer to fine jewelry that contains at least 92.5% silver. Oftentimes, silver products such as handcrafted designer jewelry are marked “925,” which means that 925 parts per thousand are pure silver. All quality-marked silver is required by law to bear the name or a U.S. registered trademark of the company or jewelry designer that will stand behind the mark.

Fine gemstone jewelry pertains to both natural gemstones and laboratory-created stones.
